I'm up in arms with Apple

So I've been pushing my AT&T rep to send me and iPhone 4G, but quite honestly I don't know if I should be thrilled to receive it. Apple's iPhone 4G has reception issues when you hold the phone in a particular way. They're not denying this flaw, but instead of trying to make the situation better they're pointing the finger away from themselves! Don't you get it Apple?! Consumers hold Apple at the highest standard! Once you start releasing products with flaws, you damage your immaculate persona. This isn't something that should be considered a minor problem, this is big. Their resolution is to tell customers to "hold it differently"??? Come on!

Apple just announced today that they're releasing a patch to fix the signal strength display on the phone. They report that the formula used inaccurately displays the incorrect number of bars for ALL iPhones. Let me get this right, instead of addressing the problem with 4G they're going to blow it off, not address it, but try to fix another problem that nobody knew about. Apple sounds like a bunch of 12 year old kids, without responsibility, and expect consumers to blow it off?

The saddest thing of it all is, people still want it.

Apple FaceTime. Will it change future communication?

Apple announced all of the fancy features that are to be included in the new iPhone 4G. One of those is called FaceTime. FaceTime has been gaining a lot of hype because its something that everyone is fascinated by. For those who don't know, its an application on the new iPhone that allows people to see each other when they call each other. It's something that most of us have done on the PC using audio+video chat programs (MSN, Yahoo, Skype, etc).

Skype is on the hustle to talk to utilize the new iPhone's hardware for their service. This will be awesome because this will allow Skype users to communicate with each other regardless if they're on the iPhone or at their PC.

Will mobile video calls catch on? Will it be something that everyone wants to do all the time? It will be interesting to see how software developers react to the new hardware features Apple has provided.

iPhone 4G

I've never been more excited to see technology advance as I have now. We're beginning to see more and more advancements that we've only dreamed about. The new iPhone 4G will be released on June 24th, 2010 will do just that. I'm really impressed by the quality of the new iPhone iOS 4.0 and its new features. Apple truly is responding to the needs/wants of their consumers. The new phone packs in cutting-edge technology and makes for some interesting usage.

Check out this cool video from Apple:

Looking forward to having it in my hands by the end of the month!

Chrome browser

I've been using Google Chrome for a bit and I've enjoyed my online experience much more than Internet Explorer. This video is really interesting because it explains why Chrome is faster. It's pretty techy, but if you're like me you'll find it informative.

My Poker Face

I got a chance to play poker with some friends last weekend and things turned out well for my hands. I won both games, which usually doesn't happen. Most of my pots were from many bluffs. I played several hands that I normally don't and one of two things happened. When I had crap hands so did my opponents or at least they had low to mid pairs. Or I just sold my hands really well and disguised my hand as something connected on the board. I called an all-in opponent who had Q-J in his hand with my 7-2 suited. I pulled out a flush on the turn. Luck definitely helped in that hand, but it was a close toss up pre-flop with him slightly ahead even with me starring down two over cards.

Most players don't show their cards, but why not? They say its to keep the other players guessing. I still achieve this showing my good and bad hands, but I randomly will not show cards. I guess I'm trying to set a trap, and it worked in the last game. I flopped a 2 pair with my K-Q and picked up a boat with Kings on the turn. Made my unusual large bet on the river which forced two people to go all-in which worked out nicely.

We joked about my motto, but it has some truth: "Those who bet or raise may win, those who fold defiantly will lose." Quite fun to think about it because it creates tangent poker thoughts and philosophies. However, with every good strategy a little luck doesn't hurt too.

Speaking of poker faces, found this funny vid.
